Q: What is Achievement Days?
A: It is a program developed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints to help children to increase bonds of friendship, learn skills
and participate in service activities which will help them to live
gospel principles.
Q: Who attends Achievement Days?
A: eight-, nine-,ten-, and eleven-year-old girls (and eight-, nine-,
ten-, and eleven-year-old boys if there is no scouting program.)
Q: How often do they meet?
A: Twice a month for a midweek activity.
Q: How do we recognize the children's accomplishments?
A: Each child should receive some sort of recognition on a quarterly
basis. Include family, friends and Church leaders when the children
share and demonstrate what they have learned. If you choose to use
the banners for this, you can give the beads as a reward for completing
an activity and the children can glue them onto their banners. When
they have completed 4 years of Achievement Days, their banners will
be finished.
Q: Why did you include the Articles of Faith on the banners?
A: The Articles of Faith are not officially part of Achievement Days
but it is a great way to encourage the children to memorize them and
have them pass them of to you at an Achievement Day activity.
